On the shores of Collingwood, Ontario, a remarkable story was written long before this brewery ever opened its doors. For more than a century, the shipyards were the heart of the town—building freighters, ferries, and naval vessels that carried grain, goods, and people across the Great Lakes.
Because the harbour was too shallow to launch vessels bow-first, these massive ships were launched sideways into the water. A rare and powerful spectacle that drew the entire town to the shoreline. That tradition gave us our name.
Every side launch was a moment worth showing up for. A symbol of Ontario at its best: grain and grit, rocky trails, forest, and open water. Hard work done right, and celebrated together.
In 2014, we carried that spirit forward into a new kind of craft. One that celebrates effort, reward, and shared experiences. Side Launch Brewing was born to honour this heritage, with beers made for gatherings big and small, for paths well-travelled, and for the adventures still ahead.
